Think of the Children. Graphic of a tired crying child. Exhausted + overwhelmed since 2021

Are you a parent or a teacher?
Have you ever wondered, ‘Why is everything so f**ked up?’

Think of the Children is a newsletter that explores the culture of parenting and education.

Through interviews, essays and conversations, we’ll try to figure it out together1.

What to expect as a subscriber

Author Q&As: The backbone of Think of the Children are monthly interviews with authors and other smart people who have thought-provoking things to say about the culture of parenting and education.

  • Subscriber bonuses for this section include audio versions of these chats, where you can hear what our laughs sound like.

  • You can find the books featured on Think of the Children here on Bookshop (I get a tiny commission if you choose to purchase through this list!)

Essays: I write about what’s on my mind as a school communications professional, a mom, and a generally anxious person/overthinker.

About me

I’m a recovering journalist and award-winning school communications professional. In addition to helming my local newsroom for several years, I’ve also had bylines in the New York Times, Washington Post, and U.S. News & World Report, among others. I’m a graduate of Bennington College, where I studied American labor history, literature, and their intersections. I love YA fiction, especially from the 60s through the 80s. I knit and sew, and I sell vintage clothes on Etsy at Bread and Roses Vintage.

Think of the Children is a reader-supported publication. To receive new posts and support my work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber.
